PING’s art direction for the latest 3D video animations was that they be “all about the detail, quality, and beauty of the club” and be “dramatic in terms of pace, depth of field, and lighting.” To accomplish this, I used the following techniques:
• A continuous, smooth, sweeping motion with no stopping of the camera or club.
• Shallow depth of field.
• Dramatic and high contrast lighting.
• A nearly black background.
• A video frame rate 24 frames per second to accentuate the smooth, sweeping motion.
